At Hair By Robotics, our goal is to arm you with the information you need to make an informed decision about your hair restoration goals. As part of the process, our patient consultant and physician will advise you on all your options. You can also expect to learn about non-surgical options for hair loss. Finally, we will discuss exactly what the procedure entails, the results you can expect and the investment you’re making in yourself.
To provide you with further information, we have listed the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below.
Simply put, hair transplant is artfully moving hairs. Our goal is to leave your donor area looking as good as the new transplanted hair. With Robotic Assisted FUE, we harvest hairs in the natural groupings or follicular units. The results are extremely convincing and because you are not left with a linear scar, no one will know you’ve had a procedure unless you tell them.
FUE, Follicular Unit Extraction, is the most advanced method of hair transplantation. This technique is outpatient, performed under a local anesthesia, with minimal down time.
The ARTAS Robotic intelligence creates an algorithm to identify and select the best follicles (or grafts) for harvesting. This technique is superior to hand-held harvesting, because graft quality remains consistent throughout the procedure and eliminates human fatigue. The harvested grafts are then placed into the thinning or balding area where they grow into a natural, permanent pattern over the next year. A stronger, more viable follicle produces a better result for the patient.
Our goal is to keep you comfortable before, during and after your procedure. Hair by Robotics offers an outpatient experience that requires only a local anesthetic. During the procedure, you should experience very little discomfort. The day after you may experience some sensitivity in the donor area, or possibly notice slight swelling. Typically these symptoms go away after 1 to 3 days.
During the consultation we will discuss all your options. It is not necessary to trim your hair before your procedure, as the Hair By Robotics staff will cut your hair the appropriate length the day of your procedure. For patients with long hair, you can also discuss the option of harvesting through a band to avoid cutting your hair.
The transplanted hair will grow the rest of your life! Hair By Robotics harvests permanent hairs and implants them to the thinning areas of your scalp. As this hair is not susceptible to the conditions that cause male pattern baldness, the transplanted hair will last a lifetime.
Hair By Robotics offers a procedure with virtually no scarring. In addition, the new hair grows in gradually. It is likely no one will notice you’ve had a hair restoration procedure; people generally just start receiving compliments on how great they look!
Recovery time varies with individual patients. With Robotic assisted FUE there are no surgical incision or stitches required, and the healing is typically very quick. Most patients return to normal daily activities within a day or two.
Although the time can vary depending on the amount of hair you have transplanted, the procedure is scheduled for a full day. You can expect to be comfortable in our office for 6-8 hours.
No. We selectively harvest individual hair groupings, rather than removing a large area of scalp requiring sutures. This procedure leaves the donor area virtually undetectable. Hair can be worn fashionably short, or in longer styles – whatever you prefer. You’re not limited by having to cover scarring from strip surgery.
Treatment costs are determined during your free consultation with one of our Patient Consultants. The cost of your procedure depends on your goals. Fortunately, Hair By Robotics offers payment plans to work with nearly every budget.
Only a physician can determine whether you are a good candidate for hair restoration. Your candidacy is based on your age, extent of hair loss, donor supply and expectations.
In many cases, a FUE procedure can enhance the results of a previous strip implant. For some patients, the scalp is too tight, increasing the likelihood of greater scarring if more tissue is taken with another strip. Others find that they no longer have a sufficient number of donor hairs. Whatever the situation, Hair by Robotics offers additional options for patients who have undergone other transplant procedures.
